Preparing and Managing Correspondence — AR 25-50

This regulation prescribes Department of the Army (DA) policies, procedures, and standard formats for preparing and processing Army correspondence.The objectives of this regulation are the following:

1) Create a standard of acceptance for written communication in the Army.
2) Provide clear instructions for the preparation of all correspondence. This should reduce the time needed for training in this area.
3) Reduce the cost of preparing correspondence.
4) Standardize the preparation and distribution of correspondence.
