This regulation on enlisted personnel separations implements Department of Defense Directive 1332.14, 21 December 1993, Subject: Enlisted Administrative Separations. This revision establishes Army Regulation 635–200 as a stand-along regulation and incorporates major Department of the Army changes in the enlisted separations programs. Statutory authority for this regulation is established under Sections 1169, 12313(a), and 12681, Title 10, United States Code. This regulation sets policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the readiness and competency of the force while providing for the orderly administrative separation of soldiers for a variety of reasons. Readiness is promoted by maintaining high standards of conduct and performance.
